Executive Camp Director

Michael Dixon became the Executive Camp Director at Three Trails Camp and Retreat Center in January of 2006. He has worked for The Salvation Army for 25 years, serving in the areas of fundraising, social work and youth programming. Michael wholeheartedly believes in the mission of The Salvation Army and the ministry of Three Trails Camp and Retreat Center. He says the best part of his job is seeing children and young adults grow in their relationship with Christ, becoming leaders and learning basic life skills while they are at camp.
Michael is married to Carrie (Assistant Camp Director) and has three children. He loves watching supporting his daughter and two boys in all their adventures. When Michael isn’t attempting to be Super Dad, he enjoys watching football and hiking with family. Being in nature energizes his soul. He loves relaxing on an ocean beach and hiking trails in the mountains. Michael’s two favorite places to vacation are Clearwater, Florida and Palm Springs, California where he has family.
Michael’s love for the outdoors has grown since having children and seeing the need to provide outdoor learning experiences for them. He has taken up hunting, but has been given the nickname “Elmer Fudd” by his wife Carrie. He hasn’t been successful in his hunting adventures, but claims the best part of the hunt is spending time enjoying God’s creation and the moments around the camp fire mentoring his children.
