It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of The Salvation Army’s decision to cancel all summer camps for 2020. With the unprecedented times we are experiencing here in the United States and throughout the world, we feel it is in the best interests of the campers, staff and volunteers to help protect us all from COVID-19. We encourage families to spend more time together, playing games, reading their Bibles together, eating meals together, going outside when possible and keeping Christ in the center of everything they do.
We will all get through this and next summer will be a joyous occasion! We look forward to hearing the joy of campers once again. We will continue to pray for you and ask you do the same for our staff as we grieve the loss of camp for this summer. God has a plan in all of this and we will continue to trust Him.
As you might know, The Salvation Army has a mission to serve. We are making our camp available to opportunities that would effectively serve people today and in the future in life changing ways in the name of Jesus. While it hurts our hearts to miss out on camp, we anticipate that God has something in store for our property that will do “immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine.” Ephesians 3:20-21.
We pray this scripture over you today: “I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:16-19
